Crown Jewels for Mental Health was established in 2010 in memory of Rosario (Roy) Scalcione and to help promote awareness for mental health illnesses.
Our current fundraising efforts are in support of Trillium Health Partners Foundation. Trillium Health Partners comprises Credit Valley Hospital and Mississauga Hospital in Mississauga, as well as Queensway Health Centre in Etobicoke. The funds we raise will help the development and implementation of the hospitals’ various mental health programs and initiatives—including Project Zero. Project Zero is a ground-breaking, collaborative initiative led by Trillium Health Partners and four other local organizations that aims to reduce child and youth suicides in the City of Mississauga to ZERO by 2027.
Prior to our involvement with Trillium Health Partners Foundation, we raised over $80,000 towards the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health’s (CAMH) Child, Youth and Family Program, which provides assistance in education, research, prevention, and health promotion for children and youth. Our donors’ contributions helped us purchase two beds for the complex health unit and provide matching donations through the Gifts of Light program. But our proudest accomplishment is having named an interview room in CAMH’s Intergenerational Wellness Centre in honour of Rosario.
Join us in our commitment to end the stigma and raise awareness of mental illness. With your help, we can save lives.
